The cheese wedding cake incorporates the following cheeses:
(bottom tier upwards)
Neufchatel Heart - This brie heart-shaped cheese is very soft and creamy, unlike other soft-white-rinded cheeses, it has a grainy texture. This cows milk cheese that originates from Normandy is very easy to love and is a perfect addition to top of any celebration cheese cake.
Bowland (half of bottom tier) - Bowland is the original 'Christmas cake cheese.' It is a traditional Lancashire cheese including apple, raisins and cinnamon. Goes very well with fruit and crackers resulting in it being a very popular addition to celebration/wedding cakes.
Wensleydale with Cranberries (half of bottom tier) - A very sweet and fruity cheese. Made with creamy white real Yorkshire Wensleydale combined with the delicate fruity succulence of pure, sweet cranberries.
Nettle - This is one of our local Northumbrian cheeses made on the Blagdon estate. It is a very smooth, creamy cheddar which is not too strong, this making it appealing for a wide range of palates. Nettle cheese is made with real herbs and nettles, that dont sting! Very popular among children.
Cashel Blue - An semi-soft Irish blue cheese, which is slightly salty with a creamy texture, made from cows milk.
Elsdon Goats- Another local Northumberland Goats cheese. Elsdon is a very traditional goats cheese with a firm texture, pleasant tang and a refreshingly clean finish.
