Sage Derby is one of England's oldest and most famous cheeses. This semi-hard cheese has a green marbled look, with a delightful mild sage flavour which gives the cheese an almost minty flavour. The first ever production began back in the seventeenth century, and originally Sage Derby was only made for festive occasions such as Harvest and Christmas. But is now available all year and has become an increasingly popular cheese. Suitable for vegetarians and pasteurised.

I said in the last review, we pigged out on Valentine's Day, likewise with the Sage Darby. It was just too good to leave. I can honestly say it made the evening, although it had to compete with our dancing!

I have had to search so hard to find it to make an older person's favourite terrine.
So many thanks.

A Semi-Hard , light yellow & green mottled cheese, that can be cut thinly without crumbling or grated. The fresh Sage added to the process infuses the cheese with the subtle flavour, making it taste delicious. Tried with success on plain wafer biscuits or as cubes at parties. Used in home made sauce to add to anything is a welcome change.

A nice mild cheese that looks and tastes lovely. A must for those cheese board lovers.

This bright green cheese can give the wrong impression at first glance, but looks are very deceiving in this case. It is a hard to find delicacy, which I was very pleased to get from The Cheese Shop.
One thing that didn't work out was the delivery company, which tried to deliver to the wrong address, but the team at The Cheese Shop were very helpful and sorted things out. I purchased several pieces as presents for the family and I hope they'll enjoy it as much as I do.
