Caerphilly is a hard, white cheese that originates in the area around the town of Caerphilly in South Wales. Made from cow's milk, this is a crumbly cheese with a mild taste and a pleasent, slightly sour tang. Many years ago, this cheese was a firm favourite with mining communities as its tough coat made it easy to eat with dirty hands! Not suitable for vegetarians and is unpasteurised.

Just like the cheese my grandfather produced 65 years ago. Well done - brought back very good memories.

I have always loved Caerphilly cheese - the taste is brilliant. My husband has tried the cheese due to never eating it before, he now likes it.
